This is my final tentacles guy.

Basic rough sketches experimenting with tentacles on aliens, fishes and spiders. I did this so I can see which on works best and how I can manipulate  the tentacles to look. my final Idea however, would be the alien guy that has tentacles coming out from  his back.

classwork alien catapiller

This is my alien Caterpillar classwork I did using Photoshop. Firstly I made a rough sketch of the character using the brush tool tuning down the thickness to add the pencil effect. Secondly I  set the first layer to multiply so i can go over it without interrupting the rough outline. I increased the thickness of the pen and began to make the drawing stand out. Setting that layer to multiply I started to lay the basic flat colors on the character. before  I got to the fourth layer I changed the RGB of the third layer to grey scale so that on the fourth layer I can add shadows. Finally I work well in to the paint as best as I can to get more realism.
